Two congruent plane figures: exercise 4

Catatan ke-12

Exercise.
Consider the plane figures below! Determine the congruent sides and angles of both triangles? Explain the answer.

Answer:
  • I know that the requirements:
    • The corresponding lengths are equal; and
    • The corresponding angles are similar.
  • I put a letter in every tip of figures. Thus, I have triangle ABD and triangle BCD.

  • For the triangle ABD and BCD.
    • The followings are the size of corresponding angles:
      • ABD corresponds withCDB, then ABD = CDB = 350
      • BDA corresponds withDBC, then BDA = DBA = 550
      • DAB corresponds withBCD, then DAB = BCD = 900
      • The corresponding angles have similar sizes. One requirement is fulfilled.
    • The followings are the length of corresponding sides:
      • AB corresponds with CD, then AB = CD
      • BD corresponds with DB, then BD = DB
      • DA corresponds with BC, then DA = BC
      • I got the corresponding sides have equal sizes. One requirement is fulfilled.
  •  Based on the description above I can conclude that two requirements for the congruence of two plane figures are fulfilled. Thus, triangle ABD and BCD are congruent.
